We provide structured, psychoeducational workshops focused on increasing understanding of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). These sessions are designed to be accessible, evidence-informed, and appropriate for non-clinical audiences seeking reliable information about OCD.
OCD is a highly impairing mental health condition, affecting an estimated 1–3% of the population. Its impact is not limited to the individual alone and can extend to families, educational settings, and workplaces. Clear, accurate education plays an important role in reducing misunderstanding, stigma, and unhelpful responses to the condition.
Our workshops draw on clinical experience from specialist OCD services and are informed by NICE-aligned models of OCD understanding, including exposure-based approaches and inference-based perspectives. The focus is on helping participants recognise common features of OCD, understand how the disorder is maintained, and respond in ways that are supportive rather than inadvertently reinforcing symptoms.
These workshops are educational in nature. They do not constitute therapy or clinical training, and are intended to complement — not replace — appropriate assessment and treatment by qualified professionals.
Our workshops are delivered live online and run on a scheduled basis. Sessions follow a structured, psychoeducational format and are facilitated by an experienced practitioner with specialist knowledge of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Each workshop is carefully planned to ensure the content is clear, accurate, and appropriately bounded.
Workshops are designed to explore specific areas of OCD and, where relevant, the role of trauma in relation to OCD, in an educational and non-clinical context. The focus is on understanding common patterns and maintaining factors rather than on individualised treatment or therapeutic intervention.
They are offered at an accessible price point and are suitable for individuals with OCD, as well as family members or supporters, who are seeking general education rather than therapy. Participation does not require a formal assessment or ongoing treatment with The OCD Treatment Centre.
The workshops take place in a shared learning setting where interaction is optional. Attendees are free to contribute as much or as little as they feel comfortable with. These sessions are not therapy groups and are intended to sit alongside appropriate assessment and treatment delivered by qualified mental health professionals where needed.
We are committed to providing OCD-related educational services that are ethical, professional, and appropriately bounded. Our workshops are developed and delivered with careful attention to accuracy, clarity, and responsibility, and remain firmly within a psychoeducational scope.
Content is informed by established, evidence-based understandings of OCD and reflects current clinical thinking, while being presented in a way that is accessible to non-clinical audiences. Particular care is taken to ensure that material is presented clearly, without overstating claims or encouraging self-directed treatment beyond an educational context.
Our workshops are designed to provide information and understanding, rather than personalised advice or intervention. They do not involve individual formulation, exposure-based work, or therapeutic processes, and clear boundaries are maintained throughout delivery.
These educational workshops are intended to complement, not replace, appropriate assessment and treatment delivered by qualified mental health professionals. Where individuals require clinical support, therapy, or diagnosis, this should always be sought through appropriate healthcare pathways.
