Laura Taylor, BABCP


Laura is a BABCP accredited Therapist and since 2012 Laura has dedicated her career to healthcare, initially training as a General Nurse before transitioning to mental health in 2018. Specialising in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Laura has advanced her expertise by completing training to deliver High Intensity CBT. Laura provides CBT and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) therapy remotely, with extensive experience in supporting individuals with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and various other mental health conditions.

Laura has consistently treated clients with diverse subtypes of OCD, including harm, pedophilia, relationship, scrupulosity, and contamination OCD. Laura has experience with new parents who develop OCD during pregnancy or the post-natal period.

Laura has extensive experience in assisting individuals experiencing their first episode of OCD as well as those with recurrent symptoms or new subtypes, her treatment approach emphasizes long term coping strategies, enabling clients to confidently apply learned interventions in future scenarios.

Laura stays abreast with the latest research in OCD treatment, including emerging concepts like mental contamination. Laura’s commitment to professional development is reflected in her regular attendance at training events and coursed, ensuring her practice remains current and of high quality.

Laura’s approach to therapy is compassionate and nonjudgmental, prioristing persoanlised treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs. Laura encourages reflection and open communication throughout the therapeutic process. Sessions are structured and goal orientated, focusing on the interconnectedness of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and employing targeted interventions to build confidence in managing symptoms.

Outside of Laura’s working schedule she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and exploring the outdoors. Living in Yorkshire she has access to beautiful walking routes and enjoys solo travel, with fond memories of a trip to Kenya. Laura also relishes in city breaks to London for the west end shows. Laura is an avid sports enthusiast, particularly interested in the psychology of tennis.
